As a dual qualified French-Brazilian lawyer specialized in international arbitration, Ana Carolina Simões e Silva has worked over the past eight years as senior associate and associate in international arbitration at major international law firms in Paris. She has extensive experience in commercial and investment arbitration whether representing the commercial interests of multinational companies or protecting the interests of sovereign States.
Fluent in four languages (Portuguese, French, English and Spanish), Ana Carolina has gained particular experience in cases linked to the energy, mining, services and construction sectors around the world under the arbitration rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), UNCITRAL and the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
She has acted as leadcounsel in many arbitration cases handling complex procedural, factual and legal issues. Her experience includes serving as Administrative Secretary to arbitral tribunals on several arbitrations conducted under the auspices of the ICC and the CAM-CCBC (Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada).
Ana Carolina also served as a lecturer at the Université Lille 2 Droit et Santé and the Law Faculty of the Institut d’Études Politiques de Lille (SciencesPo Lille), teaching International Relations and Public International Law.
